Starring Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo


Skeptical. That’s how Guy felt when he looked over at Julian, working on a song with Thomas. Julian was helping Thomas mix some vocal work, both his own and Thomas’. Guy didn’t like it. Not one bit. It had always been just the two of them, working on everything together.

Somehow it didn’t bother him when it was Pharrell, because Pharrell was able to step back and let the boys do their thing. Julian… had other ideas. Being in a band, he needed to have control over his work. Which meant he had to work closely with the boys. Mostly Thomas, Guy had noticed. It made him burn with jealousy. What did they need to do all these collaborations for, anyway?

Or anyone…

Guy showed his contempt for Thomas and Julian’s ‘closeness’ by hanging back, choosing just to lounge about on the studio room sofa, daydreaming.

“What’s with you, Guy?” Thomas questioned when he finally noticed his lethargic partner. Guy sighed, still not moving a muscle. Guy had let his feelings for Thomas really take over lately, wishing he could just tell the other. But that wouldn’t solve a thing, would it?

I love you, can’t you see? Guy thought. Of course, he didn’t say it out loud. He couldn’t. He wanted the words to mean something, not something he spouted just because he was feeling jealous.

Those three words
Are said too much
But not enough…

“Guy…” Thomas sighed. “I wish you’d talk… you just lay there when you get like this…”

“Come here…” Guy finally broke his silence. He held his arms out, indicating he wanted Thomas near.

“Guy, what--?” Thomas was confused, but he squeezed onto the sofa next to Guy. Julian noticed the intimate move, and quietly slipped out of the room.

“Just lay here a moment. Forget Julian. Forget the album.”

“Guy, what’s this all about? We have work--”

“Shh, Thomah… Let’s waste some time. Just for a moment.”

Around our heads…

“O-okay.”

Guy wrapped his arms around Thomas’ neck, silently contemplating what he should do next. A kiss was out of the question. That would be crossing the line. So he just lay there, staring quietly into the taller man’s arms. It was confusing to Thomas, but if the older man needed to be held wordlessly, he wasn’t going to question it.

So many thoughts were running around in Guy’s head, but he didn’t say a word. It almost pained Thomas not to know what his best friend was thinking. But he enjoyed the break nonetheless, just laying with the shorter man doing nothing.

It was nice. Guy was warm and soft. He smelled of laundry detergent and cigarettes, but the smell was familiar and comforting. He wanted to kiss Guy, but that was out of the question. Wasn’t it? A line they shouldn’t cross…?

Fuck it, Thomas made up his mind. Forget the line…

He leaned in and kissed Guy. Guy kissed back, the taste of cigarettes there, a taste Thomas wanted more of. It was a passionate, needy kiss, leaving the two breathless as they lay there staring into each other’s eyes.

They're all I can see…

So many feelings were running rampant inside both their heads. Confusion, passion, worry. But it felt right to finally be in each other’s loving arms, and neither of them wanted the moment to end.

Just know that these things
Will never change for us at all…

Guy was the first to break the silence.

“If I lay here, if I just lay here… Would you lie with me and just forget the world?”

Thomas grinned.

“Yes.”
